Wilkommen zu meine "study abroad" tagebuch! Ich erzähle meine Zeit in Freiburg, von März bis Juli, 2007

Welcome to my study abroad journal! This is all about my experiences in Freiburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany in Spring 2007.


General outline of my time abroad:

February-- left for Germany, stayed with family friends in Munich and Stuttgart

March-- SLI (Sprach Lehrer Institut) Deutsch als Fremdsprach course all month

April-- First week: vacation in Berlin and Barcelona
Second week: orientation with Uni Freiburg and with the UMass program at Schauinsland (Black Forest)
Third week: Monday, 16. April is the first official day of classes for Sommersemester 2007

May-- more classes, my concert; family visits; I discover that Musikwissenschaft is dull and not the same as taking real music classes

June-- Brian visits for two weeks! Also, I turn 21!
Travel plans include: trip with Brian to Rome and Paris, for three days each-- Rome was sooo awesome. Paris? Kind of overrated, we thought.
...and Naples, Italy. I saw Pompeii, the archeological museum, and more. It was seriously awesome. And I went alone and did not get attacked! Cool.

July-- Second concert with Freiburger Orchestergesellschaft on the 15th.

Classes end on Friday 20. July. I move out on 27. July to spend my remaining few days with Karl in Stuttgart.

August-- Flying Munich-->London LHR-->Boston. Then I have less than a month of summer to enjoy in VT before going back to MHC. Might also do a trip to Michigan... but that's another story!
